hello

call me Ashlynn

As a human, being I'm grateful to spiritually experience this life as an artist, nurturer, seer and life-long learner.

Residing in the intersection of creativity and empathy, I hold space for self-inquiry.  Building capacity with imagination and relaxation is my calling!

Ceramics, painting, photography, poetry, philosophy and pathmaking are some favorites.

I grew up beneath the big sky in the red clay of the Jumanos, Kiikaapoi, Wichita, and Tawakoni Nations and now live on the land of the Umoⁿhoⁿ and Očéthi Šakówiŋ Nations, colonized as Omaha, Nebraska.

A sadhak of 14 years in the Himalayan Hatha Yoga lineage, I follow a tradition over 5k years old. In 2014, I received certification with Susi Amendola at Omaha Yoga and Bodywork Center (Yoga Now).

Yoga integrates slowing down, steadiness, and heart listening. It supports the nerves, prepares and soothes body • mind • spirit through the ups and downs of life.

Much like water shares a reflection, I am honored to share what I learn on this path. I am forever learning from witnessing this reflection and have shared yoga in this capacity for 7+ years. I lovingly hold thresholds for release and connection on our path toward clarity and freedom.

Clay captured my heart in 2008 when I found myself nose-to-glass watching students on pottery wheels. By 2010 my hands were in mud with Kjell Peterson, and I continued at the local college 2010-2013.

Analog processes and pursuits ground me into my humanness. I have immense appreciation for the ceramic process because of how manual and precise an art it is. I'm humbled by how many hands and hearts come before me.

In 2014, I became a ceramic studio assistant, where I developed skills and learned processes, like how to mix clay and glazes, and best firing practices. We were blessed to borrow a wheel from my teacher til we could purchase one and a kiln to refurbish for our start up. Thank you, Susan McGilvery.

We recently moved and are setting up shop

Clay Play Atelier is on its way! Stay tuned.
