Yoga
Yoga is a way of life focused on our innate wholeness
removing the obstacles that keep us from our Self and one another
More than 5,000 years ago in the Himalayan Mountains, where modern day Pakistan meets northwest India, humans came together to codify their methods of defying separation and unifying body mind and spirit.
These methods traveled along from north and east Africa to south and east India and beyond. They survived colonization and oppression and continue to endure within capitalism today.
There are four Yoga Marga (paths) and we may follow one, many, or all:
Jñana Marga is the yoga of learning, study, research, self-reflection, experimenting, philosophizing, knowledge, mind
Bhakti Marga is the yoga of love, devotion, faith, surrender, trust, worship, gratitude, listening, blessing, creation, heart
Karma Marga is the yoga of impact, giving, action, helping, supporting, nurturing, serving, extension of heart
Raja Marga is a 'Noble Path' of 8 ways of freeing the mind body and spirit from suffering, enjoying royal bliss
I am forever grateful for the guidance of my Teacher, Susi Amendola, and thankful for the Yoga Teachers who've preserved and paved the way, for present Teachers, future Teachers, and for the wise Teacher within us all.
Yoga is a living tradition guiding us in connection

These Yoga Teachers are reclaiming Yoga in western culture, where it historically has been diluted, commodified, and appropriated.
They lead and illuminate ways to honor the roots of Yoga and nourish our minds, bodies, and communities with their healing supportive wisdom.
